Mr. Salih Ahmed Al-Khalqi, section head IT, confirmed that project management is a basic matter at any institution or authority desiring to develop work performance, or benefit from international standards in training employees.

The course comprises not simply the instructor-led training by a qualified and accredited instructor, but also access to e-learning materials to enhance the probability of success in the Prince2 professional examinations. 17 people worldwide have already passed the exam so far.

PRINCE2 is a process-based approach for project management providing an easily tailored and scaleable method for the management of all types of projects.

The method is the de-facto standard for project management in the UK and is practiced worldwide, supported by the Office of Government Commerce. PRINCE2 is fully supported in nine languages, and last year the professional examinations were taken in 87 countries around the world.

This means that QOC is adopting a project management methodology, which is increasingly seen and taken up as best-practice on a truly international scale.

The PRINCE2 process model is supplemented by eight ‘disciplines’ of project management (known in PRINCE2 as components) dealing with some of the fundamentals of the management environment such as quality, risk, maintenance of the business case and change control.
